So as some of you know I started 2013 with some ambitions to become one of the best SEO executives within the Coventry & Midlands area. I wanted to learn more about SEO in 2013 and develop a career within Search allowing me to help more local companies promote online.

This idea was quickly hampered by the fact that in December 2012 I was diagnosed with Cancer, while this was not terminal it certainty took an effect on my plans to progress my career and knowledge further.

I decided to keep hold of my role at CALGAVIN as an online marketing assistant until I had been fully cleared of cancer; this gave me the security to ensure I had money coming in and would have a stable role allowing me to continue to work from home until my treatment was complete.

January soon came along and I carried on learning about SEO and other aspects of Digital Marketing on top of this I was also now beginning my chemotherapy treatment which was going to be 4 long months.

After working on CALGAVIN’s website re-design I soon found a local agency close to me called TMW with a digital marketing department headed up by Gary Taylor. After some discussion and me continuing to develop my skills in SEO I managed to finally get a meeting with Gary in early June.

Following on from our conversation and the end of my treatment I thought it was now time for me to move on while some people think this was un-professional on CALGAVIN I left on good terms with the MD and he knew I had a true passion to grow a long career and wasn’t able to fulfil within CALGAVIN.

So along came June I had finished my Chemotherapy and Radiotherapy and now I was about to start a new chapter in my life at TMW, unfortunately throughout treatment  my previous partner had found it very hard to cope along with her young daughter which led to us separating and me moving back home to Stratford upon Avon.

On joining TMW I knew I had the chance to really make a change in my career and now further the knowledge I had and learn everything I could from Gary Taylor, who is very well respected within the SEO & Domain Name Industry.

So since joining TMW I have managed to find my own Niche within SEO and that is the technical side I have always had a passion for coding and more technical aspects, this has really allowed me to grow further within SEO and now thanks to TMW & Gary I have the chance to really work on some big clients within the UK.

So what do I have planned for 2014? Well I am hoping to continue to learn and develop within SEO and step up to a more senior role within TMW helping me progress my career further, alongside this I would also like to once again move out and purchase a new car.

So this is my little thanks to everyone who has helped me throughout the last year and anyone who I might be able to help within the future in SEO.
